My Finished Mermaid!

Mermaid Finished-02
Mermaid is complete! This is in colourway 5: black / grey / kingfisher. And it turned out beautifully, although I had issues with the applied icord on the sleeves. Which were too long and need to be hemmed anyways, to account for my stubby little arms.

More pics here. Best of luck to everyone else working on these fabulous patterns. I'm looking forward to seeing how some of the other kits work out so I can start thinking about my next Hanne project...

Great job, congrats on the accomplishment; that is alot of knitting. Love the color choice. Has anyone thought about a closure for this jacket?

Oh how beautiful, the colors suit you so well!! Do you, excuse my question, really have short arms or are the pattern dimensions a bit on the long side? I am really having problems measuring and calculating arm length from patterns as they relate to my real body. The best would be to have every sleeve knit top down, curiously, I have never done that yet....

Thanks so much! I am really happy with how it turned out --

becky: I made the largest size, which is pretty good other than the sleeve length

julie: I am thinking about a clasp type closure - something like this or this?

maus: yes I do have rather short arms, as I am rather short in person (5'3" on a good day) and I believe the large size was knit assuming the wearer was rather tall, not short and round like me ;) I will measure both my arms and the finished sleeve length when I get home this evening if you like

Your Mermaid looks beautiful! Since I was able to try on the sample from HF's trunkshow, I was able to shorten my sleeves by 10 stitches (on bottom of sleeve) I also made the size L. I am usually a size 12, 5'4" tall. My arms are average length.
