La Strada

After finishing my Meramid I've got the strong feeling that I MUST knit one more Falkenberg design. So I started Lastrada. I'm using my own yarn selection: it is black baby-alpaca yarn and a variegated baby-curl yarn from FleeceArtist. It looks great and I'm not yet decided which side will be the "right" side - both sides look great. I will decide if the jacket has become bigger.
Thi cast-on row was a nightmare.... I had to cast on more than 360 stitches. I placed a marker after each 50 stitches to reduce the effort for counting and counting again and again.

We will start to a week vacation Saturday morning and I'm quite sure Lastrada will travel with us and I hope I will have plenty of knitting time. We will travel to Southern Europe to find some sunshine.

Promenade is worse. For each front panel, there are 667 stitches to cast on and pick up. And that's the shorter version. I keep those markers (after each 50 sts) intact while knitting, and check the number of stitches between markers once in a while. I once lost a stitch and could not trace it back to where. So keeping the markers helps to narrow it down to which session the errant stitch went. Miles and miles of garter sts do not help with keeping track of the stitches.

Looks like a good start. Make sure you choose which side is which before you get to the sleeves. It can make a difference. How do I know this :>)? I'll post more on this soon.
What other colors are you going to use?

Thank you for your friendly comments - it is really a nice knitting comunity - the Hannelongers!

Be thankful you're not an XXL! I think mine started with a 501 stitch cast-on. I had to put it aside for the summer, but now that it is getting cooler you might just have inspired me to pick it up again.

Well, I definately need help...I'm working on LaStrada and am at row15 at 399 stitches and mathematically it doesn't work out for me. Between rows 15 and 16 and the 9 ridges. Can someone help me as to what I'm doing wrong????
