What about the sleeves?
I have finished the body of the Mermaid. My arms are rather short so if anyone could offer advice how to make the sleeves shorter before I start knitting I will be grateful.
Dede did some math and is making hers shorter. I haven't heard how it's gone yet, because last I talked to her, she hadn't quite finished the body yet.
I plan to do something similar when I get there. I'll probably finally finish the body this weekend.
I hope to be of some help about the sleeves. I'm 5'4" and about size 10-12. I made the large size mermaid, actually I'm working on a second one. I was able to try on the sample in the store. The sleeves were long! So I shortened them 10 stitches on the bottom, the rest of the design was unchanged. It worked perfect. A friend of mine is taller than me and it looked perfect on her as well. I would say that both of our arms are average. Hope that helps you ladies. Happy knitting from Michigan....Sabine
How tall are you Merete? I'm about 160 cm tall, with average arms! ;-) Takeing of the 10 stitches worked PERFECT for me and like I said in my earlier post a friend of mine is taller than me and the sleeves worked perfect for her as well. Sabine

looks really good! I have not started mine yet, so I can't help.
I will have the same problem so I'm interested in this too..

Me too. I've seen from others that the sleeves come out really long anyhow, so we'll see. Your Mermaid is beautiful!

Me too, my arms are short for my hips. To match my hips I'd have to be 6 ft tall. ;-)

Thanks all for the feedback. I will start soon with the sleeves, perhaps shortened 10 stitches as Sabine suggests.

Hi Sabine. I'm about 168 cm tall but what about the sloppy sleeves as Ellen writes about or did you have another feeling about them?
Hi Merete, the sleeves are fine don't look sloppy at all and the fit is great with the jacket. What size are you knitting?
I'm knitting size M and the body is fitting well. I haven't started on the sleeves yet.
you should be fine, but please let everybody know how it's going to work for you. Sabine
