Studio Long

I am starting Studio Long. This is the turtleneck with the zig-zag on the front. I am doing colorway 3. Has anyone already created a spreadsheet to go with this sweater? Are there any pattern errors that anyone knows of?

Thanks for your help. I have previously knitted Mermaid and it went very smoothly, thanks to the spreadsheet. I find her patterns to be somewhat challenging, to read.

Thanks
Susan

Hi Susan!
I just started my Studio short sweater (for about the 3rd time!) and do believe there is a mistake in the pattern early on. After you knit the first triangle on my pattern you then knit the strip that becomes the side and back. Next, you join those two pieces. The pattern says you should have 36 stitches plus 1 yo before the CST (for size Med). I believe it should be 38 stitches which matches the number of stitiches you end up with on your beginning triangle. I'm not ripping it out again so I'm going to continue on with the 38 and see what happens! I'm going to check Hanne's site to see if she has any corrections posted for this pattern. Good luck!

Linda, I found that same problem with the long version. That there should be 38 instead of 36. I checked the website, but found no errata page. Guess we are just on our own.

Hi!
Thank you for confirming! I'm not a confident knitter so I tend to think I messed up before considering the directions are wrong! I've read through the directions numerous times and I think I understand what is supposed to happen. Am looking forward to getting to the point of mindless knitting! Hope your knitting is coming along nicely!

I am having a problem finishing the sleeves on the Studio Long. The instructions say to finish the short rows with a yo. What do you do with the yo at the beginning of the next row?

I haven't even gotten close to the sleeves. I just got the the beginning of the body. I will read the sleeve "recipe" when I get back to my knitting and see if it makes sense. I usually find with HF patterns, I just have to do exactly what it says and not think about it. Thinking gets me in trouble.

I haven't started mine yet, so I'm glad to see these comments. I keep waiting for the "right" time - soon I hope!

Here's a link to some info on closing the gap when you do yo short rows. http://nonaknits.typepad.com/nonaknits/2005/04/yarn_over_short.html

I'm still a long way away from the sleeves on my Studio short. Hopefully I will have the short row thing figured out when the time comes! Good luck!
