I love the thought of knitting Ballerina, but the more I think about it, the more I am persuaded that it isn't going to be flattering for me. Which is disappointing. I have the pattern, I have the yarn, but... I don't want to knit something and not like the way I feel when I wear it!
Has anyone made it and found it flattering?
Perhaps it is time to knit another Mermaid! Or one of her other patterns.

Hello...
I have seen Ballerina IRL,and tried it on. It doesn´t look flathering on me, but my friend, who is quite a lot bigger than me, looked fantastic in Ballerina. It really looked nice on her. My opinion is, that Ballerina is for bigger girls.
Hello
i am a "big" girl and the Ballerina is very good for my figure. So it gives a nice look because the back have a swing.
I agree, it looks fantastic on big girls. I knitted one for my mother and not only is it flattering for her figure, but it looks better on her than on a smaller person.
Hello,
I made the ballerina. I am a size 8 and think the sweater would be flattering if I had made the correct size. I made a medium and was almost done when I tried on a small at my local yarn store. The small fit me well. I did not want to start again as I was near the end . I wish I had made the small size. I love making the coat though.
Does anyone have a mermaid coat pattern that they are through with and would like to sell.
I have made Ballerina but I don't often wear it. I made a size Small (I usually wear size 8/10 clothing. It still feels a bit big on me. The problem is the fit at shoulders and especially sleeves; that modified Dolman construction makes it hard for me to wear the jacket. In the future I'll stick with HF patterns that call for knitting the sleeves separately.
