Hanne Falkenberg Knitalong
My kit came yesterday!!!!! I had ordered colorway #4 and was NOT disappointed. the colors are sooooooo beautiful!! the apple green is darker than what I thought, but since this is for the fall, that is fine. But reading through the directions, I am SOOOOO intimated. My first thought was, I have to sell this, there is NO way i will be able to do this..But emailed Amy for the word spreadsheet, and really want to do this.Good thing we don't have an ending date as this may take me a year!!! so glad I found this knitalong. I just keep going looking at the beautiful colors of that yarn.

Sherry!!!
Don't worry. I felt the SAME way that you do. I was so freaked out. I thought that I was making a huge mistake, that I would embarass myself, ruin the kit, etc., etc. It seriously is not bad. I just started, but....I am doing it! Easily. The spreadsheet is a lifesaver. I am not even looking at the directions, just the spreadsheet. I even ripped out the i-cord I originally made and followed the directions for the provisional cast on (which I have never tried before) and I am going to add the i-cord later.
I know it looks bad. I am sure there will be times when it will be challenging, but it's not impossible and the spreadsheet is AMAZING. THANK YOU, AMY!!! I don't know what I would have done without it.
Sherry, if you need encouragement or help, just e-mail me and leave a message. I am definitely not an expert, but I think we are in the same boat and I am determined to finish this project and make many more Hannes. I'm off to my daughter's soccer game and I'm bringing Mermaid with me. I had such a hard time stopping last night. I wanted to keep knitting Mermaid, but it got late and I finally put down the needles. You'll feel that way too, soon. Promise!
Don't worry, Sherry! You'll do fine. As Jeannine said, I'm not even looking at the directions. With Amy's wonderful spreadsheet, it is just row by row knitting. Very manageable!
I have to say that I'm disappointed in HF's pattern instructions. When one pays such a high price for a pattern, you would expect well-written instructions.
Good luck!
